2. Packing group

There are several levels of danger involved in the shipping of Dangerous Goods shipments depending on how they are packed. These are divided into:

• Packing Group I - Substances presenting a high danger
• Packing Group II - Substances presenting a medium danger
• Packing Group III - Substances presenting a low danger

Shipper is responsible for the packaging, labelling and documentation of their Dangerous Goods shipments, which must comply with IATA regulations. In case, you cannot do the same. Aipex will help you to get the shipment packed as well as labelled for you.

The following information must be provided:

• UN-number or ID-number (as applicable) (identification number of Dangerous Goods)
• Proper shipping name
• Hazard label
• Name and address of shipper and consignee

3. Proper shipping name (PSN)

When declaring your cargo, always use the correct PSN as per the IMDG code. This will make the cargo's nature evident.

For example:

• UNNO 1266, Chanel no.5 - incorrect
• UNNO 1266, PERFUMERY PRODUCTS – correct

4. Dangerous goods documentation

In most cases we will need you to provide us with the following documents:-

• Material Safety Datasheet (MSDS)
• Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD)

Depending on the case, we might need additional documentation such as:-

• Weathering Certificate
• Certificate of Analysis (CoA) or Competent Authority Approval (CAA).

Please note that all such forms must be typed and printed, manual versions are not accepted.
